The GLA Annual Election Is in Serious Trouble

Broken GLA election illustration

GLA landowners are asking important questions about the annual election. Some have not received ballots. Unopened election packets were returned to the GLA's post office box because of incorrect addresses, while other recipients encountered incomplete or incorrect instructions.

Additional concerns include missing return addresses on ballot envelopes sent to ATS and significant proposed bylaw changes reportedly submitted without attorney review. Critics question whether those amendments comply with the Covenants and Montana law. Claudette Dirkers, a 2025 GLA Director and Election Committee member penned a letter to the 2026 GLA and asked that the Glastonbury Community Forum publish and share it with landowners.

The Glastonbury Community Forum summarized the September 22, 2026, Board meeting, where these election concerns were discussed.

Updated Glastonbury Community Directory

An updated version of the Glastonbury Community Directory (GCD) is now available. Created in 2016 to meet landowner demand for an accessible GLA membership list, the directory helps landowners and the Board update contact lists, prepare Project Review applications, and research parcels.

The latest version offers searchable, sortable, and downloadable membership information. Links to real estate resources and Google Earth provide additional tools for exploring property records, structures, and historical land use.

Created by Brockett Designs, the GCD is free to use. Its information is compiled from public sources, including Montana Cadastral, the Montana State Library, and the Montana Department of Revenue, and is updated regularly.

Tempesta Lawsuit Raises Questions About Liens and Court Representation

Tempesta and GLA court case illustration

A long-running dispute involving Parcel 59, unpaid assessments, and two rounds of litigation has returned to Park County District Court.

The Forum article reports that the GLA spent $3,434.30 in legal fees and could lose $9,991.70 in past-due assessments. It also discusses Tempesta's pursuit of $1.25 million.

The 2026 lawsuit challenges liens filed by the GLA. An Answer filed by the Association's nonlawyer president raises a separate procedural question about its court representation.

Road Policy Raises Questions About Stop Signs and Safety

Private road warning sign

The GLA Board's decisions to remove certain stop signs and install signs reading "Private Road - Caution - Travel at Your Own Risk" have raised questions about road safety and the Association's newly adopted 2026 Road Policy.

Landowners are also asking whether some roads will receive snowplowing service this winter.

GLA Websites: Plagiarism, Hacking, and Theft

Illustration accompanying commentary on the GLA website dispute

Claims that the 2025 GLAMontana.org website was "stolen" from the 2026 Board sparked a heated dispute. This Forum article challenges those claims and examines the history of the website, hosting accounts, and payment arrangements.

Ross Brunson created the earlier website and maintained its hosting account until his death in 2024. For years, the GLA reimbursed his expenses. Later, a GLA debit card was used to pay charges automatically.

The article argues that the Association's payment of expenses did not establish ownership of the webmasters' hosting accounts or websites. It also describes the 2026 Board's rejection of offered website services and its decision to build a new site.
