GLA Road Committee - Working Together for Safer Roads
Road Service, Documents and Maps
Safe, dependable roads help connect our community in every season. This page explains GLA snowplowing and sanding services, how to report hazardous conditions, and which roads receive Association maintenance. You will also find road policies, road safety information, maps identifying platted roads and culverts, and practical guides to gravel road maintenance. Understanding these resources helps landowners plan ahead, communicate concerns clearly, and participate in informed decisions about our shared road system. Winter maintenance helps improve travel conditions, but drivers must still prepare for snow, ice, and changing weather. Help make our roads better by reporting problems with specific locations and photos, volunteering as a snow spotter, or attending Road Committee and Board meetings. Your observations and involvement can make a difference for everyone who travels through Glastonbury.
Snowplowing and Sanding by the GLA
The Glastonbury Landowners Association (GLA) is responsible for plowing and sanding nearly 19 miles of platted roads within its jurisdiction. Your driving safety is our primary concern.
Montana winters bring snow-covered mountains, bright sunshine, and crisp air. They also bring snow and ice to our roads. Prepare your vehicle for winter conditions with appropriate tires, traction equipment, and emergency supplies. Adjust your speed and driving habits to match road conditions.
Useful supplies include a bag of sand, a sturdy snow shovel, a sleeping bag or warm blankets, and enough fuel for unexpected delays.
When Crews Are Dispatched
Our snowplowing contractor is dispatched when snow accumulation exceeds three inches. Crews also apply sand as needed while plowing or in response to reports of unsafe road conditions.
Volunteer snow spotters monitor conditions, measure snow depths, and communicate with the GLA dispatcher.
Report Snow or Icy Roads
Anyone in the community may request plowing or sanding on GLA-platted roads. Please report snow or drifts exceeding three inches, or slick roads that need sanding.
Include the road name, specific location, and a description of the conditions. Photos can help crews identify the areas that need attention.
The Road Committee reviews requests, inspects reported conditions, and dispatches crews as needed.

Roads Outside GLA Snowplowing Service
The GLA does not provide snowplowing for private driveways, unplatted roads, or Dry Creek Road.
To request plowing or sanding on Dry Creek Road, contact Park County Roads at (406) 222-4137.
Volunteer as a Snow Spotter
Help us serve your neighbors by reporting road conditions regularly. Snow spotters are especially needed in Lower South and Lower North Glastonbury.
