Disagreements occasionally arise in a community with more than 300 landowners and nearly 1,000 residents. Before filing a complaint, consider discussing the concern calmly and respectfully with your neighbor, if you feel comfortable doing so.

A conversation may resolve a misunderstanding without a formal complaint. If the issue remains unresolved, you may seek assistance from the ombudsman for North or South Glastonbury, if one is currently serving.

Please share these procedures with any renters on your property. Thank you for helping maintain a considerate and cooperative community.

1. Discuss the Concern

Explain what you have observed and identify the covenant or association rule you believe may apply. Keep the discussion courteous and focus on finding a practical solution.

2. Document the Issue

If the concern is not resolved within a reasonable time, complete the GLA Compliance Form. You may also request a copy from the association.

Include:

• The location and relevant dates.
• A clear description of what you observed.
• The covenant or rule involved, if known.
• Relevant photographs or other supporting documentation.
• Any steps already taken to resolve the concern.

3. Sign and Submit the Form

Sign the completed form and submit it by mail or as a scanned PDF by email. The form and submission details appear in the right-hand column.

The procedures described here reference Section 10.02 of the Glastonbury Covenants and the Complaint Committee Protocol adopted February 16, 1998.

Contact the GLA to confirm the current review process and ask how you will receive updates about the association's actions and findings.

If you need help presenting your concern to the Board, ask whether an ombudsman is available for your area.

Questions for a Committee

For guidance on a matter handled by a GLA committee, use the association's contact form. Describe the situation and identify the committee or Board representative you believe can help, if known, so your request can be directed appropriately.

Report suspected criminal activity, such as vandalism, violence, trespassing, or theft, to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Call 911 if there is immediate danger or an emergency.

The GLA complaint process does not replace a report to law enforcement.

If the incident also involves a suspected covenant violation, submit a GLA Compliance Form. Include relevant information about your law enforcement report, such as the report number, if available.
