Roads Connect Our Community
GLA Road Committee Minutes
What does the GLA Road Committee do? The Road Committee helps the Board plan and oversee maintenance of Glastonbury's 18 miles of platted roads. Covenant 8.01(c) describes the Association's intent to maintain a private road system that provides access to community parcels. It allows different levels of maintenance based on terrain, drainage, weather, and available resources. Covenant 8.01(e) also addresses road safety rules, including speed limits, signs, and traffic regulations, while Covenant 8.01(h) limits maintenance and snowplowing obligations to the assessment funds available. Within the authority assigned by the Board, the committee helps identify road needs, review contractor proposals, recommend spending priorities, and address maintenance and safety concerns. Under Article VI of the Bylaws, committees must keep minutes of attendance and actions, and any authority to act for the Board must be properly granted. Please join our monthly Road Committee meetings to learn about our roads and help plan for their maintenance and safety.
